Gail Engelman
Tuesday/Thursday Teacher, 2018/19

Mrs. Gail Engelman joined Highland Park Preschool (formerly Edgemont Preschool) in the fall of 2014. Gail is a qualified early childhood educator with certification as a Child Care Worker. She brings over 20 years of teaching experience as a preschool and play program teacher.

It was when she was volunteering at her children’s preschool that one of the teachers inspired her to change vocations from business to early childhood. “I love to sing and dance with the children while teaching them,  and yet still be firm and gentle in my guidance strategies. Seeing a child’s excitement as they discover and learn new things, their smile when they are happy to see you, their honesty and love is what keeps me going. School should be a fun and safe place for all children where they feel respected and develop a love of learning.” Mrs. Gail will be enjoying a well-deserved retirement after the 2018/19 school year.
