Save the date! On November 14th, from 7 pm to 8:30 pm in the north hall of our community centre, our HPCA Asset Mapping Project team will be revealing the Asset Map that volunteers from our community have been working on this year, with support from Lauren M at Carya. At this “Reveal” event we’ll be showing everyone the online Google Map for the neighbourhood we’ve created, with over 100 spots marked, and attached pictures and videos when you click on the spots.
We’ve grouped the spots into 5 major categories: Historical Spots, Unique or Secret Spots, Parks & Public Amenities, Businesses & Non-Profits, and Flora & Fauna. We’ve included all kinds of things in the neighbourhood & a bit of our surrounding area that we thank (and the people we spoke to) make Highland Park a pretty cool place to live.
In August’s newsletter we included a picture as part of a community contest for the project. We asked our newsletter readers to identify the location. The image was part of the instructions for one of the pieces of equipment in the Fitness Park in the green space west of Edmonton Trail NE & north of RONA. There were several correct entries, but the winner of the Tim Horton’s gift card for August’s contest is Rosie T. Congratulations!
