Community Garden Boxes

Enter the lottery for your own garden box for the season today!

We have some exciting news for gardeners in Highland Park! We have recently installed some garden boxes on the southwest side of the community centre building, near our recently installed rain garden. The boxes will be available to residents of Highland Park who are members of HPCA (you can buy a membership here).

Residents who win access to a garden box this year will have access to water and a hose during the summer months. Gardeners will be responsible for planting and weeding their garden box, and we also ask that they help maintain our rain garden. Maintaining our rain garden will help increase the number of flowers in the area which should attract more pollinators to your garden box!

The boxes are 3’W x 6’L x 18”H and are made from spruce. While entering the lottery for garden boxes is completely free (with an HPCA membership), we will ask winners for a $50 refundable deposit that will be returned at the end of the gardening seasons on the condition that garden boxes are reasonably maintained.

There will only be five garden boxes this year as we wish to pilot this to ensure folks are invested in the program and that we have general support for this program. Therefore, if this is of interest to you, please fill out the form to enter to lottery today!

The lottery for garden boxes will close on Friday, May 13, at 11:59 pm and winners will be informed on Saturday.
