Block Connector

(City of Calgary Program)

What is the Block Connector Program?

The Block Connector Program helps neighbours connect with one another, learn about local resources and opportunities, and build a sense of community.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Within a small area near their homes, Block Connectors do the following:

  1. Introduce themselves to neighbours;

  2. Share information with neighbours about local resources and opportunities; and

  3. Help connect neighbours with one another.

WHAT SUPPORT IS AVAILABLE TO BLOCK CONNECTORS?

  1. Block connectors are provided with information about local resources and opportunities so they can share with their neighbours;

  2. Community Connectors can help block connectors plan fun events for neighbours;

  3. Block connectors are invited to special events to help them meet one another and gain skills.

HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED?

  1. Volunteer to be a Block Connector;

  2. Volunteer to support the program in other ways (i.e. help plan special events, liaise with Block Connectors etc.); and/or

  3. Join your existing Block Connector group.

If you want to be involved, please contact Jennifer DiMarzo at jdimarzo@calgary.ca.
