The Community Litter Pickers are on a roll! After a successful launch on April 26th, the May 13th cleanup marked our second session of the season—and it was another great turnout. Volunteers brought their A-game to the east side of Centre Street, filling 16 bags of trash and hauling out several bulky household items. Huge thanks to everyone who pitched in!

Since then, Highland Park Community Litter Pickers have been meeting once a month, and the momentum keeps growing. The August event brought out 14 residents who helped clear our neighbourhood streets. It was also a wonderful chance for kids to get involved and see positive role models in action, learning what caring citizens can do for their community.

Next Up: Two More Chances to Join In!
There are just two more opportunities this year to join the Litter Pickers:

• Saturday, September 9th | 10:00 – 11:30 AM

• Saturday, October 14th | 10:00 – 11:30 AM (final cleanup of the year)

These sessions are a fun and easy way to connect with neighbours, give back to the community, and make a visible difference in our streets and green spaces.

We’ll pause for the winter after October and start fresh again in April 2026.
